Nikee Kelly
My name is Nickee Kelly and I have worked as a therapist for the past 15 years within a Private Practice and Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health Services.  My training is in Social Work and Psychotherapy.

I have a particular interest in working with young people who are experiencing disordered eating and have specialised in this area of therapy.  I work relationally to explore what the function of any difficulties around eating are and therefore how they can be resolved. In my experience, eating disorders are often an expression of underlying unhappiness with oneself in some aspect.  Therapy aims to give understanding around what has caused this and rebuild the individual’s capacity to see their inherent value and worth regardless of weight.  Eating disorders are complex and my work is underpinned by psychotherapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy).

Dr Louise Edwards
Registered Clinical Psychologist

I Love the work I do, helping people to change and grow and allowing them the freedom to live the life they want to live. I believe it is a privilege to hear people’s stories and work alongside them to make sense of things during difficult times.
I am a highly qualified, fully registered Clinical Psychologist and a full member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists

Since becoming a Clinical Psychologist, I have worked with children, adolescents and adults, both within a DHB setting and in private practice. I have worked in community mental health settings and within a specialist eating disorder service, working both with inpatients and outpatients. I have expertise in working with individuals, families and in group settings.

My work is usually focused on restrictive eating disorders in young women, but I am able to help with a wide range of difficulties.

I know life can be challenging at times. I am friendly and warm, with a flexible and integrative style to psychological support. I have training in and work using several different therapies creating an individualised approach for each person I work with, helping them to develop tools to work towards emotional wellbeing.

When I am not working, I love to be outdoors making the most of our beautiful natural landscape, I engage in mindfulness practice, enjoy running and mountain biking, travel and reading.

If you are looking for psychological support, either for yourself or a loved one, then it is likely that you have been experiencing a difficult time recently, having someone to listen can help. Change is possible.

I work using a number of different therapies including
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy [CBT]
  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy [EMDR]
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Enhanced [Specifically for eating disorders]
  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy [DBT]
